Internships

The Berks County District Attorney’s office offers an internship program for law students throughout the year. This unpaid internship is specifically designed for second year interns who are certified by the Supreme Court, however first year students may apply. The program exposes interns to all aspects of the District Attorney’s office. Interns are assigned to work closely with Assistant District Attorneys, and assist them in case preparation and prosecution.

Law students who are certified by the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania will conduct hearings in open court under the supervision of Assistant District Attorneys. All students will have the opportunity to conduct legal research and assist in trial preparation.

Interested students should send a cover letter, resume, school transcript and writing sample to Assistant District Attorney Kevin Howard, Berks County District Attorney’s Office, 633 Court Street, Reading, PA, 19601.

College students that are pursuing their undergraduate degree in the area of forensics or criminal investigations are encouraged to apply.  

Application Deadlines

Fall Semester Internship 

Resumes should be submitted by June 1st

Spring Semester Internship 

Resumes should be submitted by October 1st

Summer Internship 

Resumes should be submitted by February 1st
