Emergency Management Branch

The Emergency Management Branch of the Berks County Department of Emergency Services provides a number of different services for the County of Berks.  With its primary focus on all-hazards planning, this branch is responsible for maintaining a number of different plans including the County Emergency Operations Plan (EOP), the Limerick Generating Station EOP, SARA facility plans, day care, nursing home and school plans.  In addition, they also assist the local municipalities and their respective emergency management coordinators with the development and maintenance of their individual plans.

The Emergency Management Branch also maintains and operates the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during county-wide disasters and also provides a comprehensive training program for all municipal EMCs on a monthly basis.
