Sexual Abuse of Children – Possession of Child Pornography (F2)
Criminal Use of a Communications Facility (F3)
DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
In October of 2022, the Berks County Detective’s Office received a complaint from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (N.C.M.E.C.), involving Child Pornography file sharing utilizing the internet/web application ‘Google’. The ‘Google’ account being used was in the name of ‘Eli Gonzalez’.
The Berks County Detectives learned that an individual utilizing this account uploaded a video and several images of suspected Child Pornography to a ‘Google’ account between July and September of 2022.
Detectives also determined that the I.P. addresses utilized to upload these digital files of child pornography to the target ‘Google’ account were from a Comcast Cable Communications account. The subscriber of this account was identified as ‘Eliezer Gonzalez’, 234 S. 5th Street, Apartment #2, Reading, PA 19602.
On Thursday, December 1, 2022, the Defendant’s cellular telephone was seized pursuant to a Search Warrant issued by Magisterial District Judge Priscilla Campos.
As a result of a forensic analysis conducted on the defendant’s cellular telephone by the Berks County District Attorney’s Forensic Services Unit, numerous digital files (images and videos) of child pornography were recovered.
On Monday, June 26, 2023, the Defendant was charged with (2) counts of Sexual Abuse of Children related to the Dissemination and Possession of Child Pornography as well as (2) one count of Criminal Use of a Communications Facility.
On Tuesday, June 27, 2023, the Defendant was arraigned on these charges by Magisterial District Judge Priscilla Campos. His bail was set at $100,000.00. The Defendant remains in the Berks County Jail System where he was previously being held on an unrelated offense.
A Criminal Complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
