DETAILS OF INCIDENT:
On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the Reading City Police Department received a complaint regarding the sexual abuse of a child. This sexual abuse was reported by the victim’s mother, who indicated that her daughter had been sexually abused by the defendant when she was approximately 7 years of age. According to the victim’s mother, the defendant had recently apologized to her for sexually abusing the victim. It was reported that this abuse occurred between January of 2019 and June of 2021.
Based upon the allegations, a Childline report were received by the Berks County Detectives and a criminal investigation was initiated.

On Thursday, January 26, 2023, a forensic interview was conducted with the victim at the Berks County Children’s Alliance Center, Reading, PA. During the forensic interview, Victim #1 disclosed that the Defendant had sexually abused her when she was between the ages of 7 and 8 years of age. According to VICTIM #1, this abuse occurred at her residence located in the City of Reading, Berks County.
On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, the Defendant was charged with (1) count of Rape of a Child, (1) count of Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, (1) count of Indecent Assault, (1) count of Indecent Exposure and (1) count of Endangering the Welfare of Children.
On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, the defendant was taken into custody by members of the Berks County Detectives. The defendant was transported to the Central Processing Center for processing and his preliminary arraignment. Bail was set at $80,000 and the defendant currently remains at Berks County Jail.
A Criminal Complaint is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
